Pine Lodge was established a long time ago by some people that we still need to research. What we know is that Ernest and Helen Hammett Gozenbach owned the property in 1909 which at the time was called Pine Grove. True to the character of the property both then and now, Swiss milk goats are raised at Pine Lodge. The Ziesel family were the next owners of the property. Norb and Beulah Heus then took ownership and named it Pine Lodge. The next owner, Neil Eigenberger changed the name to Oneil's Pine River Inn. Finally, in March of 2004 current owner's Tom DePagter and Lee Schueffner brought back the Pine Lodge name.
